Menagerie Advocacy & Support is a not-for-profit organisation built around a simple principle: People facing complex systems
and
difficult circumstances
should not have to navigate them alone.
Our work focuses on two areas of support;
Menagerie provides practical, respectful advocacy through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs claims process. We help veterans understand the pathway ahead, identify and organise relevant evidence, navigate DVA requirements and progress their claims with greater confidence. Our approach is veteran-centred, particularly recognising the challenges faced by veterans in rural and regional communities where access to experienced advocacy can be limited.
Menagerie supports people living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), their families and those who care for them. This support is grounded in compassion, empathy, understanding and lived experience. FND can be complex, confronting and frequently misunderstood. Sometimes the most important thing we can provide is not another system or process, but someone who listens, understands and genuinely recognises the person behind the condition.
Across both areas, our philosophy remains the same: listen first, treat people with dignity, provide practical support and walk beside them through the difficult parts.
We are not here to make promises we cannot keep or to tell people what they want to hear. We are here to provide honest guidance, informed advocacy, meaningful support and a place where people know they have been heard.
Advocacy - Support - Respect - Dignity - Hope.
